Hello All, About time I got my backside into gear and finalise the arrangements! I have spoken with the campsite www.fforestfields.co.uk/ this morning and advised them that there are a few of us likely to be descending on them. Although no pre-booking our payment is required they would really appreciate having an idea of numbers in advance. Probably so they can make us camp away from anyone else! The lady I spoke to was very pleasant and has a list of B&B's if anyone fancies that option rather than kipping under canvas. In addition I will soon be talking with Seth at the Foundation to talk about payment - how much for each beat and when he wants paying. I don't really want to be chasing for payment and it is my intention to post the daily rate for each beat and a deadline for payment. I think that we should all be able to work out what we owe! I am happy to collect the payments and forward them as necessary. Currently the following are still available.... Friday Doldowlod *4 Cefnllysgwynne * 2 Ty-Newydd * 3 Saturday Ty-Newydd * 2 Sunday Doldowlod * 2 Ty-Newydd * 1 And if we run out of these spaces there is still a shed load of other water available. All are more than welcome. Finally I must admit that I haven't even thought about food. Anyone got any bright ideas? All the best, Ben

Bri, Will ask Seth if he has any details on the sea trout fishing. Cheers, Ben In My opinion runs of sea trout on the upper wye are limited ? I have only ever Caught one Sea trout 6lbs - 15 years ago on the Cliffs Pool - whilst Salmon Fishing @ Hay on Wye Its about a 160 mile round trip from the meet Camp Site to fish any decent sea trout [day ticket ] water on the Tywi ( landovery on a flood ) ? River Neath (Swansea) ? Reidol (Aberystwth )? Ogmore ( Bridgend)

Apart from that as Ben Wynde said, the next nearest sea trout fishing is probably the Taff in Cardiff, then the Ogmore (hard to get on) and in the other direction (West) there is the Rheidol, Ystwyth, Aeron and Dyfi but all a pretty decent round trip.

Bri - it'll be beer and midnight brownies. That time of the year there is a good chance of some late night caddis fishing for the big brutes

Jay - I would imagine that as Ben has block booked the beats for three days, we have complete access to them - I know the WUF guys fish late. 'Spose we ought to check with Seth first.

Hi Ben,
Just to confirm my attendance to the WyeUsk social
I will arrive friday afternoon/evening with "seaweed". I will fish Tye-Newydd (is this the one I'm down for?) beat on Saturday but I think seaweed is on another beat.
I think we are off home on either Saturday night or Sunday morning but again not too sure. What do I owe for one entire day's fishing and campsite? Do I need to buy one of those passport things?
Presumably there is food at the local pub?
Underwood.

Underwood, The Ty-Newydd beat is booked via the booking office and is not part of the passport scheme and I guess that Ben is waiting for confirmation of people attending before going ahead. As for food have a look at www.wyeuskfoundation.org for local services, I guess on one evening a social BBQ will happen but the rest of the time probably best left to the individual to fend for themselves so there's no organisation pressure for Ben .
