Shanksi, well done to the wee man. hope he's keeping ok. I'm the bore who used to sit in the hut and tie flies while the boys were oot in the cold and rain at the sygnets. unfortunately my wee boy doesn't want to be in a club so he hasnt been to swans since the summer.
I am in the same branch of the guild as the bloke who is teaching the boys to tie. hope he's doing ok.

Wullie,
I was wondering where you had got to. I always cme in to talk while my boys (Craig and Fraser) were fishing. I had a feeling the wee one didn't want to be there.
Jim is doing ok, but unfortunately Tam has his own way for tying flies. Best leave them to get on with it.

Wullie, Good to hear from you and sorry to hear the wee fella isn't keen on swans. How's the older boy doing, remember he was in for scottish team trials? Josh enjoyed his day yesterday and is enjoying even more all the comments being posted As David said there seems to be a difference of opinion on the flies, I just stay out the road and let them get on with it. David, Ian,
Glad to here the boys are doing fine. The wee fella still fishes but at his own pace. he has a mate from polmont trying to teach him casting but he has the co-ordination of an octupus. He had three fish for 9lb at bowden springs a couple of weeks ago fishing a sight indicator (sorry Daver!!!). His big brother, Stephen, finished eighth at the nationals, so he made the scottish team for Rutland. I think Daver is giving the boys a talk at a get together later on this year, so he will keep them right. Havent been at swans as stephen loves the boat fishing on bigger waters since he fished the nationals. We will be back though. hope alistair doesnt think we have chucked a stane at his door!!!!

Jim,
what about going back to the Earn around the end of April on a Sunday when we can fish the fly, hopefully the olives will be on. You must admit Sandy has a great set up there ideal for a social.

Open to suggestions, I also wondered about a venue where some of the lads who were not used to boat fishing could get teamed up with more experienced boat anglers. I will have another talk to Sandy and see what he says, but I am quite happy to sort out most things. I might push my luck a bit and see if I can get a couple of beats on the north esk that rarely get fished fot trout. But whatever you guys want I,ll try to organise. jim
