You bunch of girl thingies - we're camping. We camped last November and we didn't have anyone die. April will be no colder - Spider will do it in shorts....
Trout - if you could find us a suitable field then that would be much appreciated - I'll organise for something in return for the land owner which we'll all chip in to.
I left a message regarding booking the boats - they should be phoning me tomorrow. I'm basically just going to book everything they have!
If they don't let me block book it then we can all phone up within an hour of one another and book a boat each - we'll do it somehow!
Cheers
Chris

Holiday Inn now open Mate on the A38 Less than 15 minutes from the Dam at Blagdon. I quite fancy staying there myself ;D Oh I shall be there for all 3 days [glow=red,2,300]BUT[/glow] camping [glow=red,2,300]NOT[/glow] C.B Actually looking at the numbers and the number of boats at Blagdon, we could fill 'em. That would be incredible, every boat on the lake with us lot. Magic ;D

It would be good to have an idea of numbers of people who would be willing to camp, should i put a poll up later?

I think you'd be looking at about 20 people Trout.
They do tend to be noisy buggers though. On the other hand we do leave the place very clean and are good!
Cheers

What's with all this talk of staying in hotels the best bit of the socials have been all staying together and enjoying the evenings too. Enough of this, get the tent's out you wimps. If you slip off to the nearest b&b you won't really be at the social ;D ;D be there or be square.

A B&B would have been delightful at Eyebrook after the Thursday night monsoon, although the cheapskate in me says that I'll be camping again. (Didn't you sleep in that large Honda of yours with the built in cooker/shower/double bed/3 piece suite)? ;D

Aye, let's not do things in half measures.
Let's not use tents - camping under the stars means you don't need to worry about putting a tent up - that's a bonus.
Seaweed - you're on the list.
Rich - no money yet - I need to sort things out first.

just dont sleep at all! Here here mister Nicholls, the folk that cut out early regretted it and once yer in yer bag its so cosy eh but there is a definate need for an accoustic guitar and a log fire, I vote that should be a stipulation, nothin like all joining in the classics half cut round a fire,,, now thats bonding, oh yeah, rowings good for the soul....

Well folks - it's happening. Details for the social are: Friday 30th March - Boat Saturday 1st April - Bank Sunday 2nd April - Boat It will make things a hell of a lot easier if we stick to Blagdon for all 3 days (and rumour has it this would be our best option for the fishing). The cost for the fishing is subject to a possible price rise but I'll base the price for now, on the current prices. Boat fishing will be £23.50 per day which includes your 8 fish limit. Bank fishing I need to check on but will be £12-£13 I guess - I will confirm this price. As we are booking this way in advance, and they don't usually except bookings before January, I need to collect the money asap so we can secure these boats. WE WILL HAVE EVERY SINGLE BOAT ON BLAGDON BOOKED For that to happen we need to act quickly and get everything confirmed. I know it is still a long way away but things will move quickly and I need to know ASAP what days you will be attending. First come first served. A list will go up on the first post on the thread with who is fishing when. Please indicate whether you will would rather not be on one of the boats. If you are unsure of operating/fishing from the boat then we can sort you out with someone with experience. Cheers, Chris
