Could be the first of many, much many. As has been said it can be addictive and, bending your 'Personal Text' a little, you may well find that building is gooder than buying.

I like the job, my only "comment" is that I would have chosen a darker finish on the guides. They look like hard chrome. Perhaps you could advise? SiC guides are a smoky grey. Less glare and less likely to wear out.

Looks great and a good finish !!
Takes me back to my first rod - out the back door of sharpes of aberdeen came an 11' impregnated cane three piece which I still use for grilse fishing. Just building a sage 14' three piece.

Less glare and less likely to wear out. Sorry for the late reply. I haven't looked at this thread for a while. The snakes on this look to me exactly the same as a factory XP I have. I'm not sure what brand Sage use but I've never had any problems with wear.
