Am fitting a preformed butt section to salmon rod handle - Can anyone confirm the best way of easing out the diameter please - from 10mm to 16mm. Foam butt cap preglued onto cork.

I use old sections of rods wrapped with emery tape to open out handles . Use extreme care though as it is easy to go too far .

I'll second what Sandfly says. Bit of doweling out of B&Q or treat yourself to a round file. If you do overdo it, you can use twine and a liberal amount of epoxy resin to "pad it out" Tight Lines

By hand, cork is soft & easily worked. Tight Lines
