I wrote something a few minutes ago, about the Above Subject, that would surely have got me permanently banned. Sufficit it to say that I would now rather lose a last functioning testicle, trying to make something of OUR own - British - fishing, than copping out and running off to be a total w@nker, there...

Iffy, both British and foreign, megabucks fishing-lodge/camp owners / operators, finding either that one of their increasingly geriatric clients has copped out and / or died, or that REAL anglers would rather NOT catch now than catch at far too high a cost to both themselves and to Angling's future, tarting themselves about for impressionable "business"...
Oops...

A-ha! I noticed that the thread in question is locked from the start (a first?), also got himself a whole new folder for is efforts.
Lets guess how much for a rod/accommodation (sans flight) - 2k?
Also another 'mod' - I thought it was just Invicta?

You mostly know that my view is we should spend a lot more money than we do now on our fishing and you mostly know why. So you can gather I'm not averse to commercialisation in fishing. BUT I'm with Paul in this instance.
Not because someone is spreading the word about some fishing in Iceland, but because someone has decided to create a special section for this locked thread.
This is not the right way.
There is a perfectly good UK and Europe River Updates section to make this announcement, plus Destination and Classified sections and if this is a truly commercial undertaking then a banner advert could be taken out.
We aren't making this forum come alive just so someone can have a free ride on the back of it.
INVICTA please remove it forthwith and ask the new moderator to promote this destination in one or more of the ways suggested above!

Read the original "Last Minute" thread, and my comments at its start.
Accept no substitute for blood, sweat, tears and talent...
