Saw this Theatre version of the old BBC telly series in Bristol last Thursday. Rick Mayall as Alan B'stard has defected to (run) new labour, same girl plays his wife and looks just as hot as ever. Oh, and the actress that plays Condalita Rice!!!!
So it is very funny, has a quantity of sexual ineundo's as well as the ploitical satire, and is well worth seeing. Currently on tour prior to reaching the West End in the Autumn.

I have to correct just one point, this was on ITV not the BBC.
Made at the studios of Yorkshire television in Leeds. The same studio as Countdown.
Wish they would bring this back to the TV - one of the best programmes I ever worked on.
The original series perfectly satired the Maggie era, perhaps it is the time to do the same for Blair.
Lets hope the current bosses of ITV get to read these comments and are brave enough to commision political satire - some how I suspect they are not!
