David Attenborough is 80 today. Zoo Quest was a must in my house, as were Hans and Lottie Hass and Armand and Michaela Dennis. Not to mention George Cansdale. I remember being transfixed as a child watching D.A. searching "for the only dragon left on earth" - the Komodo Dragon. Black and White and grainy images but imprinted in my mind's eye for ever. A wonderful Englishman. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4976552.stm

Don't forget Jacques Cousteau! (However, Michaela and Lottie had a different appeal that neither David nor Jacques could match!)
