Sage, from what I believe and what happens on my computer you should be able to run multiple programs. They will just all run one after the other (or at the 'same time') I use Zone Alarm and McAfee on my computer

i am currently running norton anti virus on my pc have been given adaware 6 pro + serial ultra win cleaner can i run these as well as the norton a/v ;D ;D ;D ;D Do you many problems with your pc, ie lock-ups, programmes misbehaving, internet slow etc, if you do i would suggest that you ditch Norton av. Contrary to popular belief Norton av and Windows do not like each other. I know this from personal experience as i had norton av and i had no end of problems with my pc till someone suggested to me that it could be norton causing the problems, so i removed it and reformatted and have had very few problems concerning stabbility since.

You canny tun 2 anti virus programs on the one computer .....but what you have been given are not virus programs so thats ok. I would just install adaware and not the other on ethough....no pint in 2 programs that do the same job i reckon. A good free antivirus is AVG which is great!

Hi Sagerod
Those products should run together without a clash, but the golden rules when making changes to a system are :
(1) backup your important & personal stuff (2) do one thing at a time, with testing in between changes
That way, if you do experience issues you usually need only go back one step to rectify the problem.
How you test is up to you, but I'd suggest you start each important application you have in turn just to make sure they do start, and if you have the time, leave it a day or so to make sure your system is stable before making the next change.
I hope that helps
Russ

If the P.C. was new at Easter then the Norton virus protection should run for 1 year. I had the same problem with pop ups on my McAfee virus protection so I uninstalled it and re installed it that stopped the pop ups and I still get all the updates for free.

You should be able to turn off the upgrade alert in the programme settings. I used to get them all the time when I moved up to xp pro.

Pc-cillin is my recomendation, I forget its there most of the time. I suspect our software might be a pirate version though. So recomending others purchase Pc-cillin (medicine for computers-with no prescription charges)....I feel a little less guilty.
