I'm moving into my own house next week and Oct is the start of the fishing season here. Yes! When the rest of the fishin forum are packing up for the winter come here and fish for another season.
If any forum members are coming over to the South Island feel free to give me a shout. I might be able to sneak a day off work to fish, failing that I can provide a bed for a night, esp if you're flying in from the UK.
PM me or use my email.

Hello,
I will be leaving West Wales for down under on 23 Sep 05 8.30pm.
I will be travelling the North island for the first week and I have booked a fishing guide in the Taupo river catchment on the 03 Oct 05 for one day.
I will be in Christchurch hopefully on the 13 Oct 05 if I follow the itinery to shedule, maybe you can give me a contact number so that I can give you a ring if I get the time, (misses permiting of course).
What's the long range weather forecast for the next 3 weeks and more importantly what's the fishing going to be like this time of year?
see ya later,
Mark.

Hi Mark Was interested to hear of your propsed trip to NZ, especially Taupo region. For your interest I go to NZ each XMAS or have so for the past 4 years. Normally have 2 weeks over there fishing and visiting relatives, mainly in the north Island. Normally site myself in Taurangi with emphasis on the Tongariro river or some of the Taupo mouths. Still only just getting to grips with the trout over there, but always end up having a good time. Be good to hear of your trip Vic
