Hi TZ, not the ranges you mention but not far away, I fished the Housatonic river in up-state connecticut a few weeks back. Housatonic River Outfitters at Cornwall Bridge is the place to get the lowdown/permit. They have some lovely water for brown trout (though it was too hot when I was there and we only caught small mouth bass - good fun though). Really is fine trout water and well worth the effort.

Fished the Catskills a few years ago, enjoyed the Beaverkill river most, extra helpful tackle shop at Roscoe check out their web site and forum page should get all the info you want there, including daily river flows & fishing report. www.catskillflies.com/guide.htmI also fished the West Branch and the main stem of the Delaware with a guide from West Branch Anglers but I always came back to the Beaverkill, lovely water. Beware however it can get very busy up there over the weekend period. Ifor
