Hello - I am going to be in London (business), but free on the 5th and 6th of August (Friday/Saturday) and possibly early Sunday (depending on flight times).
I was hoping to get some fishing in in the Midlands - I've fished Grafham, Rutland, Draycote and Eyebrook before - and would happily do so again - but I'd also like to try Ravensthorpe or Pitsford.
I'm American, so I don't get the chance to fish these places often, and I know that early August maybe isn't the best time to be out, but there it is.
Also, I will not have a car (in the past I've just taken the train to Oakham or Peterborough and gotten a cab from there, etc.) but I'd also like to find a boat partner.
If someone could provide transport I would be willing to cover boat fees, or whatever seems fair, and I'm happy to take a train out to the nearest station.
I prefer fishing wet flies, nymphs, or dries but I do not mind pulling lures, fishing boobies, or whatever else it takes.
Thanks!

I'll probably be free on either the Friday or the Saturday if you don't get any better offers You'll have to put up with me pulling a team of three boobies on a DI7 all day though! Grafham would be best for me as I'll be coming up from down South

Not entirely sure. It will have to be a weekend and it won't be in the next two weeks as I'm up fishing in Scotland. Maybe when I get back at the end of this month.

Hi there I live in Northampton which is very close to Pitsford and also Ravensthorpe There is a very regular train service to Northampton I don't work so I am free any time you like I can pick you up from the station Obviously the weather will play a big part in how they fish early and late obviousy being the best times but the boats are coming into their own now with the weed and the fish moving out quite a bit I have yet to fish Ravensthorpe myself but hope to very soon and get some experience and knowledge of the place, the particular Anglia ticket I have means I can fish there once a week Also I have NEVER fished from a boat but am willing to learn ;D I fish Pitsford as often as I get a chance 2 or 3 times a week as it is only 10 or 20 minutes from my flat dfepending which side I want Where we go and what we do is totally your call if you fancy coming with me If you wanted to get a hotel for the night you could do both Pitsford and Ravensthorpe Friday and Saturday Up to you Let me know what you think Mick PS here's a couple of returns sites you can keep up to date with www.anglerstimes.co.uk/www.rutlandgillies.co.uk/reports.htmPPS Ravensthorpe only have 12 boats so they need to be booked, opens at 7.30 boats out about 8.00 Pitsford boats open at 8.30 but have many more boats
