This would be correct - earlier in the year I took the wrong turning from the M25 and was heading towards Catford rather than Bewl. Didn't get to Bewl until 10.30 Andy, who from these forums shall be with us on Sunday? Cheers Chris

Just returned from a splendid day on the Kennet. Also good to put a face to the name of charlieH, Adz, Baz, also to meet Andy again and to fish with FlyBri again.
Had my first Grayling and enjoyed chasing a pike down the river
Will be back for another day soon

Yep - great day - really enjoyed it. Thanks Andy to organising it and being such a good host (the steak was perfect!). One tussle with a grayling and I'm afraid the grayling one - but it has only served to whet my appetite for another go. BTW - thx for the whiskey Charlie!
Cheers Bri

A more difficult day than the previous ones; the murky light made spotting fish difficult, and low water levels and the disappearance of most of the weed cover made them spooky. A #16 Copper John was again the most successful fly for me, though a regular PTN worked on the shallows. I couldn't tempt them up to anything on the surface this time, though I think others did. Good to meet Chris, Bri and Baz, and another excellent lunch from Andy. Bri, being a Scot, your forebears must be turning in their graves; that was whisky, not whiskey!

Ooops! ;D The reason I can't spell it is cause spelling 'single malt' is easier!

I'd be interested in some winter Grayling.
How do you usually run it?
