On the subject of biggest fish wild cards - I think this was one of the best parts of the competition for a few reasons.
It gives you hope until the last cast of the day - you don't resign yourself to not getting through if you are blanking come 3 o clock.
It is great for beginners who can have some success in a competition without bagging up.

Lo all, I can do it, not a problem and I know a few sponser for prizes etc.. also as does Martin, but getting something this size organised for next year is tight, it would be better setting something up for 2007 where it could be much better organised and then everyone would have had a year to get into it. Martin, you know this means me, you, campbell and bugsy all getting together to discuss this . Welsh Dee anyone, Rutland? Give me a call when you have time and we can look at doing something. cheers Dave Cheers Dave..you are like me.. (Bugsy also).. a fair comp is needed FOR THE ANGLER!!! ... I'm more than willing to set it up with help .... And.... next season!! No problems..... We'll see Bugsy..... It may be on a small side initially but, once word gets around it will grow I'm sure! How about a simple name... The International Team championship!!!.... I'll sort sponsors as well......

Bit sad really when all people want from comps are big prizes i was lucky enough to win second day individual and top individual overall and a silver medal with my team . I personally could not give a flying toss about the prizes given that day except my medal . What made that comp for me was someone who i respect and admire walked up to me straight after the match and congratulated me for my catch on second day to have a guy like Martin Introna having made the time and effort to come over and say those few words meant a lot more to me than any prizes up for grabs I would also like to thank all the other anglers who made the effort to say well done that day . best wishes jim crawford.

If you have seen Neil Anderson since winning he,s like a dog with two tails. The pride he got for the achievement was far greater than any monetory award. He was so pleased he slept with the trophy! we,ve all had our moment of glory at different times, it,s that feeling inside that we fish comps for.

Just had a look at the dates out of curiosity and unless I am mistaken if you want to practice for the team event you have to pay to enter the individual comp

Yes Simmo, you are right. We have been stung in the past with it. It just works out so expensive it is infuriating. I think we will focus our efforts on the AWFMI comp this year, and might just 'turn up and have a go' at the TFEO team qualifier.

After looking at the TFEO web page i notice that Mr Horsey does not have any HEATS on Loch Leven this year ,does this mean he has given up on the East coast teams after all it was a team from Loch Leven that won his comp last year ,surely he can give Loch Leven one heat to take the pressure off the Lake ,Simmo you are so right about the dates they are like that so maximum profit is made he ain't daft

Don't enter the individuals if you want to practice as a team, just take your chance and turn up on the day teh individual round is being fished - to practice. Bet you there will be boats left over that you could use - ones that haven't been filled by individual competitors. Unless, of course, you want to fish the individual. We found last season that most of the people fishing the individual comp, were doing so as they felt it was the only way that they could practice for the team the following day. Expensive and restricting way of practicing. If not so many people took this cautious approach and just turned hoping to get a spare boat.............
I'm sure you can see what I mean.
