Don't buy rods without trying them with YOUR lines, could be £50 wasted. Also 2 piece is a pain. 4 pcs is more flexible and you can still break the rod down into 2 when moving between marks. Remember UK saltwater and Pike fishing is constant blind casting so you stay clear of ultra fast specialised distance rods but fast enough to cope with ever present winds.

hmm..I haven't bought anything as yet, still into the contemplating stages at the moment.
I understand your point about trying before I buy though...
Back to the thinking stages then. Thanks for that..

unnamed make - could be anything from a bargain to a dog - you shoudl be able to pick up a good rod for that kind of money - a greys grx 8/9 for instance
