Any news of them there bass being sighted off the shores of the Sussex or Hampshire beaches? Been away for a few weeks and plan on hitting the shores this weekend sometime.

Hello Jamie
Yes the posting "Mackerel blitz" relates to the coast you are interested in. As for the Bass....They are on the scarce side when it comes to larger specimens, but quite a few small scoolies about.

Jamie
Nigel H was fishing down on one of the Estuaries and caught several Bass after the Blitz had gone through, so worth a go for sure.

Yeah, there seem to be a fair few smallish bass around. Trouble is, they tend to shoal by size. So on Sunday I had eight well under a pound, on Tuesday eight up to around 2lb. I figure if I leave it a while I'll be due to hit a pack of five pounders.

Well, I'm going to head for the coast early Sunday morning to see if I can get much joy on a returning tide. Any suggestions would be appreciated guys, otherwise I will head to either Peacehaven in E.Sussex or East Head, Witterings in W.Sussex.

Hambo has got a thing going on down at Folkstone this week-end... Why not try down there. I am going to try and get down on Sunday.
