brownboy, The following are two images. The first shows a Bow-Tie Buzzer, tied by mrs. Frank Sawyer, and the original wool used. The second image is a quick & dirty drawing I just cobbled together which shows how the fly was tied on. Tippet is threaded through the hook eye and then a short piece of the white wool is tied onto the end of the tippet. If need be, trim wool down to the length you desire. Next slide the Bow-Tie Buzzer down the tippt until it jams against the wool. The fly itself is not 'tied' to the tippet itself. It is free to slide up or down. The result is a buzzer pattern with feelers, and one which is suspended vertically once fished. Cheers, Hans W

but what stops the buzzer from sliding away from the wool, and do you fish it on its own, dont grasp the concept of this.

having bought a few dozen it would be good to know exactly how to fish them properly.

brownboy, The Buzzer will stay put. It has nowhere else to go, no other business to attend to. I suggest you try and see if it works as advertised Cheers, Hans W
