Morning all
1. Can anyone clarify the materials needed for the Snipe Bloa ?
2. Secondly, I have the materials ( bar the waterhen!) to tie a Waterhen bloa. Which of these would people think is the better fly - for stillwater use.............
Advise gratefully received. I'm swaying towards the Waterhen bloa as I have a few of the very deadly Snipe and Yellow already tied up and I have a feeling that the Snipe Bloa is much the same .......

Dressing Hook:14-12 Silk: straw coloured Hackle: pale feather from the undercoverts of a Snipe wing. These feathers can be heavily barred with white. The feather you are looking for does not have heavy white barring Generally a pale bluey grey.
A similar fly is the Light Watchet which has the same body but the hackle is a pale Starling feather. Tight Lines

If using the pattern in a sedge hatch I'd probably go with the Snipe Bloa - just for the colour accent on the 'legs.' That means on a stillwater I'd mostly go for the Snipe. It depends on what insects you get in your part of the world I suppose?
