What colours of CDC do you prefer? I've always used natural grey but recently i've been using a yellowy olive type and it is much easier to see in the water.
does the colour matter?
similarly does the colour of a klink post matter as i also often have trouble seeing white in broken water?

I use a lot of coloured CdC Mostly the Petitjean stuff. Favourites are the more subdued colours. I don't know how much difference colour makes. Maybe not as much as I like to think it does.
As for the post of a Klinkhammer try peach Antron Boyd Wool. One of the most vissible colours there is on a river. Brilliant in white water.
Cheers Alan.

I use a lot of Olive yellow anf pinks blended in the magic tool. The petitjean colours are all pretty subtle and work well in combinations. Lately I find myself using Blue dun quite a bit.

I sell a lot of CDC Spiders on my site - www.spidersplus.co.uk - the most popular colours being Olive and certainly the "Slade Dun" colours - a sort of purple/violet colour. (Take a look at my "Snipe & Purple CDC Spider".) The dyeing of CDC has improved so much over the past few years - both the M Petitjean and Lakeland coloured CDC is well dyed and still retains its natural oils ... For wing posts, why not try a "bi-visible" idea - combine two colours of CDC laid next to each other then tied in so each colour is still defined - black and white, yellow and red, etc. Kind regards Phil

I have bought spiders from spiders plus and the quality is superb.
The spiders are very slim and tied superbly,I had 5 brown trout on a snipe n purple short spider and the fly is still as good as new.
Thanks Cran

Got every colour in the book but I find natural light beige to be the best most of the time. Ones I use most are Benecchi, Hyper select, spotted mix and a large bag of Kaki I got mail order from France - www.pechetruite.com/Boutique/cul_de_canard.htm - link came from this web site a while back. Don't like the dark grey natural stuff we seem to get in this country - suspect there are different types of ducks involved. Ian

I'd echo that, I bought most of the colours listed on Lakeland and when it came down to what was catching trout, I found natural/olive seemed to work best...

There are a lot of lovely dyed cdc about, but I use only the natural, straight from the duck, as there is not a floatant that is on a par with the real ducks' arse stuff.
