There's some cracking variations on themes with both pheasant and hare as bases. A personal favourite of mine at the moment is as follows: Hook: Size 14 Sprite Sproat Silk: Black 8/0 uni Tails: Pheasant tail herl tips approx 1/3 the length of shank Abdomen: Pheasant tail herl wound flat Rib: Fine silver wire Thorax: Tightly dubbed olive dyed mole fur Wing case: Pheasant tail herl from the tails and abdomen. It's been working a treat up here in the Lake District for fish feeding on both buzzers and nymphs. Pic of a nice 11" fish I took with it the other day is here: www.geocities.com/fastna2/images/greatday/f2b.jpgCheers,

You could also try a normal Pheasant Tail Nymph with a pearly 'braid' thorax too. That also works a treat. The first time my father tied them up and tested them on a local river, he was catching trout on nearly every cast!
