Hi all, i'm looking for long shank goldbead hooks in size 8 &10 made with a decent wire, ive got the Flash Points by Partridge but they are too wide and short, any help would be greatful. Glyn.

Hi troutbum, ive tried googling these hooks of yours and I cant find anything about them, are they pretty close to what im looking for gold head, straight eye or down eye, and longer than standard if so send me a PM and we can have a chat. cheers Glyn.

If you are looking for long shanks try the TMC 5263.
In fact pm me your address and I will send some down to you, in size 10, 12, 14 to give you an idea of what they look like.

Hi all, doonicus those are the hook type i'm looking for but I needed the gold bead already fitted cheers anyway, thanks kypemeister yours are are the right type too but also without the bead I might have to get them separate... beads and hooks Thanks again Glyn

glyn, You can buy gold beads on ebay, and they are not expensive. Give them a coat of varnish when you finish the fly, so that they do not tarnish for a while. doonicus

I only use hyabusa hooks from www.rutlandfishing.comThey are £5-00 for 100 and are sharp as hell. They stock quite a range but mostly i use their comp heavyweight. just as good as fulling mill or kamasan but a fraction of the price. I can honestly say that ive never had a problem with them, even after 10 or 12 fish on the same fly. Even the people i tie for love em, and were all on the comp circuit! You know how fussy some 'match' anglers can be.
