I keep hearing about a fly called a Yellow Dancer. (I believe there are red and black varients also).
Can anyone give me the pattern please?

The Dancer was developed (I believe) at Newmill Trout fishery Lanark. There are various colour combinations available (to see some go to reelsndeals.com). Fished slowly on either a floater or an intermediate, it has taken many fish for me and others at Newmill and various other fisheries. A white version also caught me school bass while on holiday recently in Normandy - You should have seen the looks from the locals. I particularly like the following combination: Hook: general lure hook sizes vary 10 - 14 or so. Thread: Black Head: Gold bead Body: Peacock coloured tinsel Hackle: Palmered Yellow Tail: Yellow Marabou
Also try Invicta colours, Orange/Black, Yellow/White combinations
