Hi All,
I plan to sneak off from work on Friday afternoon and head across to Packington. As I've never been here before and plan to fish from the bank, can anyone tell me where to try and what to try with?
Thanks
Matt

Royvs would have been the best person to answer this, but he is in Pennsylvania this month.
I've fished the main pool, Cocks Close a couple of times.
Small black and green lures should still be doing well and hares ear patterns fished slowly on an intermediate should also do well. Sometimes using a different pattern works well. I had a fish on there last year on a #12 all gold pattern I normally use for wild brownies.
Black buzzers are also a good bet there.
There are some very big fish there, so don't go too light on the leader material.

Hi Matt,
Not sure whats working at the moment - haven't fished it since this recent warm spell but i know that it has been fishing seriously well of late. Definitely worth an afternoon.
I was up there early last week and had a busy day on the black buzzer and even a few on the cats whisker. You normally get a friendly crowd up there who will be more than happy to give you some more recent and more accurate advise.
If you can lay your hands a copy of the Solihull Times there is a weekly summary of what/where/who has been catching at Packington.
Good luck - let me know how you get on.
