Fished there last Thursday + its now fishing well after a slow start. Loads of fish have been stocked and they are starting to come out in good numbes now. Stockies are still pretty close in to the dam, inlet (despit the coloured water there) and natural bank especially hall point. Seem to be on the upwind shore close to bank as previous week a lot were on the West Bank. If no bank anglers are around I'd take the boat right in + fish floater/intermediate with small nymphs + buzzers (black and red worked well). Lures will work if that's your thing but hang the flies at the end 'cause a lot of fish seem to follow + the takes are less convincing than on the nymphs. the fish are well spread though + caught + released nice fish of 4lb13oz and 2lb12oz near the floating bird raft off the natural bank. Finally, a lot of the "crowd" were catching back drifting with boobies + hi ds off the dam + atlantis, bit unnecessary when nymphs are working well but what ever floats yer boat.....
Good luck at the weekend!

Sorry to hear you had a stinker Philfish - my first post of "useful" advice on here too! My advice I guess is ignore/do the opposite of everything I suggest next time and you'll probably have the best day fishing of your life!!! May be it was the weather that put them off? Did no one else seem to be catching either + were you fishing on the bank or in a boat?

3lb grayling, Not a touch, both of us boat fishing tried various places.
Bradders, I think you are correct, the thunderstorm the previous night didn't help. There was a club competition as well, it seems that one of the regulars fishing in it blanked as well. The warden confirmed your advice, it had been good the previous day, so don't feel bad about it ! We will try again.
