Neil and I are fishing Bewl from a boat tomorrow and it looks like there will be a light southerly breeze, starting with little cloud in the morning, but building to almost complete cloud cover by the late afternoon.
Any suggestions for fishing in these conditions? Buzzers seem to be the obvious choice, but what about damsels and cormorants for the deeper water and corixa and ptn for the shallower areas?
Any idea where the fish are likely to be at the moment?
Will share any info we can glean when we get back.
Thanks,
Glenn

Glenn Glenn just be aware of weather forecasts We were due to have a light Southerly down here in Bristol today but what we got was a bloody freezing strong North Easterly It's always wise to have a PLan B C.B

Don't worry Country boy. I always make sure I have a bailer on board.
I've had to use it twice on Bewl when the waves and rain were filling up the boat quicker than the trout. They are also very useful when you haven't got a pot to p*ss in.
The forecast has changed from this morning and we have slightly stiffer breezes than forecast, but nothing that heavy. Tomorrow should be calmer, but I'm still going fishing if it bloody well snows.

Cormorants are doing very well - fished very slow on a floating line in calmer water (even the weather is foul). The takes were pretty shy - but I think the recent poor change in weather had impacted the fish
The fish are pretty well distributed for this time of year - i fished with a guy who fishes pretty regularly down there yesterday and it had been fishing its head-off until fairly recently.
Keep moving and stay away from the pack

Thanks Adrian. I'll try to stay away from the pack, but it has a habit of following you as soon as you catch a fish. You can't even escape when you are drifting; they simply anchor in the drift where they see a fish caught.
I'd also like to meet the bas*ard who tips off the fish before I get there, as the fishing is always great the day before or the previous week.
Cheers,
Glenn

Fished Bewl yesterday. Slime line with an orange booby on the point and a sparkler on the top dropper was a killer. Black Buzzers are also producing fish. I had a Cormorant on the middle dropper most of the day and never got a touch on it.
The weather was overcast with sunny spells. When the sun came out the catches dropped off, luckily it wasn't out for long.

Was out on Friday. Only had 7 fish but the same old story - when you find the fish they are fairly willing.
