Anyone fished this recently. I am in a competition through my work on Monday and wondered what is catching there at the moment. It's too far to go for a practice session.
Any advice appreciated

Catch Return week ending 30th April 06
203 anglers caught 510 rainbows and 7 Browns
231 fish were kept and 286 returned
Best rainbow 11lb 5oz
Rod average 2.5
Average weight of fish kept 2lb 7oz
Boat angler T Rooney caught an 11lb 5oz rainbow from the area around the point on a Black Buzzer and W Hide had a 10lb 6oz rainbow from the same area on a Green and Black Montana. Bank anglers were among the bigger fish as well, Mark Walker had an 8lb 8oz fish from the point, P Riley had an 8lb 4oz and Alan Byfield had an 8lb fish from the dam. K Tiplady had a 7lb 8oz and Olive Murray had a 6lb 9oz from the moorside. William Wilson caught 12 fish in 5 hours from the holly bush on size 16 Black and Peacock keeping 4 for 12lb 8oz. Peter Crowe had 14 and Ernie Craster 13 from the dam wall on Buzzers fished under an indicator. Chris Micallef caught 18 from the high bank on Blood Worm and Buzzer fished on an indicator.
Prospects for the coming week are good with a further stocking of 300 1lb 8oz to 5lb rainbows. With temperatures increasing anglers can expect a lot of fish rising throughout the day to good hatches of buzzer and some Olives. C D C Shipmans and Shuttle Cocks should do well on top with Black or Olive Buzzer, Pheasant Tail, Damsel Blood Worm and Hares Ear the best nymphs. Top Lures will be Dawson’s Olive, Dawson’s Nomad, Black Fritz, and Cats Whisker, fished on floating or intermediate lines. With boats getting more popular anglers are advised to book for weekends to avoid disappointment.
Lockwood will be holding a heat of the CEFF Airflo Bank Competition on Saturday 6th May, teams of three, or Individuals can enter. For details ring 07973 779527 or to have information emailed to you contact me on lockwoodfishery@aol.com .Due to the competition the fishery will be closed to bank anglers from close of day on Friday 5th May reopening at 4.30pm on 6th May. Boats will still be available on the day.
On the 27th May we will officially launch the new wheelyboat. Hardy Greys, The Salmon & Trout Ass and a representative of the CEFF will be attending. Casting instructor Rodger Beck will be on the Hardy Greys Stand to help anglers and demonstrate equipment. Raffle tickets cost £1 and are available from the fishery. The draw will be made on the day. The Cleveland branch of the Salmon & Trout Ass will be demonstrating fly tying as well as holding a raffle and promoting the organisation, We will have a special £10 1fish with catch and release permit available for the full day, anglers wanting to keep more fish can still use the normal day permit.

Hi Johnboy!!! I'm fishing there next week, bit late for you but i do fish it a bit................ So my advice is, if you don't know it that well, maybe you do. others might be intrested!!(Up to you) Standing at lodge looking at lake go right keep walking till you come to a raised square concrete plinth, if you cast out from there say 10-15 yards you'll cover a deep gorge that runs in towards the bay, either side of this is shallow, but big fish seem to sit hear and a small fly slow retrieve tends to get em!, My last one there was over 10lb.......

Take plenty of warm clothes its cold up here on a morning and late at night, there's been some Northerly winds blowing which take the temperature down.
