Next week I've got my first ever visit to Llyn Brenig, just after some some advice regarding flies/line/tactics - I'll be boat fishing.
Thanks In Antisipation.

Sagemad, I fished there a couple of years ago for the first tme. her lodge is full of information so do not despair if you do not get too munch from here. When I was there anglers fell very much into two camps the pullers caught less fish and pulled boobies, viva, cormorants, cats wiskers. The nymphers tweeked various wets, mini montanas, hares ears and caught more and bigger fish. It was late season and one of the most stunning fisheries I have ever fished. Can I suggest a PM to Daver on this forum. Have a look almost anywhere, especially fly tying and send him a PM. He is a top man and loves the place. Piscator

The only advice I can give you about fishing Llyn Brenig is to fish deep and slow because the water temperature will still be cold its because Brenig is 1200ft above sea level.
Tight lines

Fished the league yesterday and caught my limit. Plenty of fish rising to buzzers on top all over (JAD's right early season, but Brenig has warmed up and there's plenty of food around for the fish). Good luck & tight lines. Neil.

If all else fails stick a coral booby on a slow sink line and hang on tight. Had 11 on Easter Saturday using this method, drifting past the woods on the far bank from the lodge.

Hi sagemad - I would combine dabblers with a booby. Put a coral booby on the point and two dabblers on your droppers. Fish them on an intermediate (Fast Glass) or Di-3 line. Should get you some return for your efforts. Tweak them / figure-of-eight them. Very succesful method up there.

Don't be tempted to use a very fast sink line near the woods opposite the lodge as there is a lot of dead timber on the bottom and you will get hung up.
