Nick, yes I heard Stocks is fishing well and you two are a bit better than the average Joe. The interesting question is "why" are Stocks and one or two places bucking the weather - I don't believe the fish density in a place that size can be higher than say Ringstead or Rib ? If trout don't like water at 3 degrees C, they don't like water at 3 C, it can't make any difference where that water is. Such is the magic of fishing Charlie Just speculating here but Stocks is in a fairly cold part of the world. Maybe 3 oC represents a rise in temperature which prompted the trout to feed whereas in warmer (relatively) parts 3 oC represents no increase with the fish therefore less active.

Westlow Mere in Congleton Cheshire is fishing well. mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/guynew/westlow/mere.htmOn bloodworm and fritz nomad, I had 10, but you had to pick your spot, they were higher up in the water than I thought the temperature would allow... floating line with a 10ft leader did the trick, no slime line required... One guy was catching on dry flies...

Seems that everywhere across Northern England has been fishing well over the last week or two. Within the last 7 days I've fished Stocks, Mere Beck and Barnsfold and I can vouch that they are all fishing well despite the very strong winds we've had over the last couple of days.
I also have it in very good faith that Sharpley Springs in the NE England is also fishing its socks off. One of my friends had 20 in no time on Saturday all on glow buzzers and PTNs about 3 foot down.
Regards, Terry.

LLYN BRENIG AWESOME
Fished this water twice now in the last few weeks. I was there today and caught 17. The biggest was about four and a half pound but the best was a fin perfect bright silver over wintered rainbow with a dart of a tail. It was about 2 and a half 3lb. Took a pic on my phone and will post it up (if i can work out how to upload it) before releasing it along with all the others. Weather was terrible but I took refuge in the bays and caught most of my fish there, also had a few around duck island. Caught all my fish on a peach booby and a bibio. I would advise people to go there if in the area as its a cracking place.

I've had great luck at Harelaw just outside of Neilston. Pristine, large, fighting Brown Trout.
Good Luck!
