Anyone know if there are day tickets on this stretch of the Tees and, if so, where to get them?

Barnard Castle AC have water downstream of the bridges in town - tickets from the tackleshop in town or the cafe next door on a Sunday, a fiver or less as I recall. It's a bas$£&d to wade - lots of big rocks with the odd one swept away by a flood to give the possibility of an unexpected ducking.
I believe that Raby Estates water (miles of it up to and above high force) is available on day ticket available from the ironmongers shop (Raines?) in Middleton-in-Teesdale and from the High Force Hotel.

Yes the tickets for that stretch can be bought from the places you mentioned. Its only one bacnked all the was up running from Cauldren Snout right to the Bridge in Middleton that goes over to Mickleton. The lower section runs from Piercebridge to just outside of Gainford

Thanks for the info. I have fished the Strathmore Estates water above Middleton in Teesdale, but was wondering about the lower stretches below Barnard Castle. I was at Winston on Sunday and saw a few cars parked by the river, but couldn't stop and see if anyone was fishing.

Winston is a Stockton Angling stretc if I'm right and it's bloody expensive for the area...noce place under the bridge mind..

Raby has the Peircebridge side of the River Best phoning the offices. I couldn't find out anything about it today.
