If you want I can post a picture comparing how much smaller the 5/6 weight is

Thanks Chris, appreciate the advice. I did think that the reel would be a different size, and obviously weight, but just wondered if there was any technical reason why I could'nt do it. (Not sure if I will take to river fishing so did'nt want to buy a new reel just in case)
