As I have never heard anything but good reports about his instruction, I have been in contact with Carl (ex? forum member Berlin) about him leaving God's own county for a few days and doing some casting tuition "down south". Carl has suggested a group tuition day. This would require between 6 and 10 people for a whole day's tuition + lunch. The cost will depend on numbers - £60 each if 10 people up to £100 each if 6 people. I am based in Salisbury and can sort out a venue (actually a cricket pitch) + good pub for lunch near here, but I would be willing to travel an hour or so if a different venue suits more people e.g. nearer London?? So, if there is any interest in this could you either post your thoughts on this thread or pm me. FYI, some comments on a previous day Carl has done can be seen at: ukswff.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=casting&action=display&thread=1138363313&page=7

I would be up for a day with Carl at Salisbury assuming a) It was the £60 and b) I could get the time off work.

I would be interested at £60, depending on the date.

Probably looking at sometime in June at the earliest for a weekend or possibly earlier if a weekday.
From a personal point of view a weekend in June/July would be better. I will also have to check that there is no home cricket match on the day.
The place I can use is actually about 15/20 minutes West of Salisbury at Fonthill Bishop. About 2/3 minutes off the A303. Nearest stations are Tisbury or Warminster. I can give people a lift from Salisbury station though if it helps.

I can collect from Warminster station if needed (assuming I'm going).
I could get our rugby clubs pitches at Warminster if the cricket club's unavailable.

To try to maximise the chance of getting 10 people, I also posted this idea on completefisher forum and there is interest from there as well.
I think there are 12 or so people in total interested between the two forums, so if Carl can deal with that many the price may go down a bit.
I have just sent Carl a pm to get some dates. Once I have a reply I will let people know and we can see who is available when.

If we can get 20 people I'm sure Carl will come down for two days.

If we can get 20 people I'm sure Carl will come down for two days. I have already suggested this to Carl. I am awaiting a response and will post as soon as I know.

I have been in contact with Carl and we are provisionally looking at the weekend of June 24/25.
If everyone who has shown interest comes, we will probably have to have two days to accomodate the numbers.
So, could people please let me know, either by posting on this thread or via pm, which of these days they could make.
For those wishing to camp, this should be possible at the cricket pitch where the tuition is taking place. If anyone needs B&B, hotel recommendations then let me know.
Also, on the day transport could probably be provided from Salisbury station, Tisbury station and possibly Warminster station.
If anyone is wanting to fish in the area on one day and have tuition on the other, there are various possibilities within 45 minutes drive or less:
Avon Springs, some of Salisbury & District stretches of the Avon, Holbury Lane Lakes, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust have 1/2 a mile of the Wylye on day tickets +++
