I'm gonna stay on the bank all the time. Oh I got, the bits to make a sensible '' temporary clubhouse, complete with interior barbie/ flue. could do with another tarp tho, only for a floor if anyone has one and is prepared /bothered to bring it - wicked, 9 x 9 metres, ta... hahhah,,, speak soon

This may help. It's the report for the first week of last season. "Tactics are pretty much the same from both the bank and the boats which isn't too strange considering that the two are fishing in what amounts to the same water.
So: try a HiDi with an olive and orange goldhead, goldhead montana - retrieve is the key so vary the depth and speed. As an alternative, try a Wet Cel II or intermediate with a long fluorocarbon rig with diawl bachs, black and olive buzzers - again depth is the chief factor.
In terms of location, look for water going out to around 12-14 feet deep with a long gradient. What this means in real terms is that the Top End is very limited and the main action is taking place around the Dam area.
Best Boat areas: All along Butcombe Bay from the Byewash to the Island and the corner of the North Shore
Best Bank areas: The car park end of the North Shore, Butcombe Stones, All Saints, the Holt Bay end of Green Lawn and the corner between Woods Bay and Rainbow Point "C.B

I can't wait ;D ;D
Is there a pool's for the largest fish on the day.
Is there scope to offer some prize's etc for the best catch on the day or booby prize etc.
I will bring a river rod 3/4# as a prize if more people join in.

We should do a competition of some sort, not to make the whole weekend in to one, but a little fun one on the side......e.g
Best rainbow Best pike Best perch
well c'mon theres bound to be a couple caught!

So Kevzim or Chris Nicholls are you going to enlighten me TobyM Ah yes, the infamous Cook bok, a powerful curse with no known antidote, very easily caught and very hard to be rid of, sufferers are known to find it increasingly difficult to catch fish after spending any amount of time with the spreader of said bok, the best course of action is to fish as often as you can after sharing a boat with Chris Cook and hope it wears off with time, I also favour taking a sprig of lucky heather and a rabbits foot afloat with me now when sharing a boat with him. The up side is I believe you can only be affected once.
