I have just managed to secure a week on the Scottish Dee on the Little Blackhall Estate from the 20th February 2006 to the 25 February. It is one of the famous Dee beats and I am going to split the week in two as follows : 1. Seven rods fishing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 2. Seven rods fishing plus tuition ( if needed ) Thursday, Friday, Saturday. The cost is £100 per day and includes accomodation at the luxurious Little Blackhall lodge. The spring Salmon fishing at Little Blackhall can be fantastic....Two years ago we had ten Springers and as many Kelts We have the support of two experienced Ghillies and three fantastic huts. So far T. P. and I are booked in for the second half of the week so have 5 rods to go Check out the website to view the fishing and the lodge: www.riverdee.co.ukNormally this week is taken by the owner but he has decided to let it If you book a rod there is every chance that I can get him to repeat the week in 2007 and will offer the 2006 rods first refusal. A fight to Aberdeen should cost no more than £50 if booked early enough and the beat is one hour away by car, the cost of which can either be shared or I will arrange collection from the airport by the Ghillies. Banchory is a 20 minute drive away and we can use the Estate road and walk into town so drinking and driving is not an issue. PM me for further details Mick

That is an excellent beat at that time of the year with a real chance of a springer I can highly recommend it. The Little Blackhall side does require some deep wading though unless the water is high. The Inchmarlo side could almost be fished in a pair of slippers. There should be plenty of kelts present also to add to the action.

Same month as the Sea Trout forum grayling meet in Wales. Will go into 'kiss ass' mode and see if I can barter for another few days away from the government ...

May I suggest big expensive Christmas present?
And it is the back end of Feb, whereas the Sea Trout meeting is the beginning.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Never fished for salmon or used a double handle rod so some tuition will be needed. Now I just need to work out how to get there from Amsterdam.
