I caught this personal best broonie 8 1/4 lb from my club water today. I normally fish the fly but as the wind was quite strong I thought I would do a bit of spinning instead Caught this on a greenish toby.

That's a lump of a Brownie Cocksparra! Any ideas if it was a resident or a freshly stocked fish - certainly fat enough!

Not sure It might be a stockie but i would like to believe it was a resident. No matter what it's a personal best for me, pity I didn't catch it on the fly.

Nice fish mucker, but certainly a stocked fish. has all the hallmarks. I used to fish the locality years ago & whilst never caught one that size, have had a few "largish" fish. Must get back to my roots & have a day out. A nice Brown Trout water now I hear.

Yip it used to have a great reputation as a good brown trout loch. Sadly the club opted for it to become a mixed fishery but there are some really good natural brown trout in it too.

I don't eat trout, but a family member is very fond of them. By all accounts it was lovely
