I caught this one on the Usk today during the only hatch and rise on one of Grizzle's dry flies (thanks Gereint!). It was an amazing rise, one minute nothing, the next there were fish rising everywhere, 15 minutes later nothing again! Quite the eventful day, I had my camera stolen from my tackle bag by an American Pitbull, luckily his owner returned it! ;D T.P.

Well done TP, Beautiful Brownie, taken on the dry at the start of a cold spring. Makes it more than satisfying than mid summer. J.

Pretty fish - what was the hatch - LDO? They often hatch pretty much the same time every day and it's worth trying with a nymph about half an hour before the hatch is due as nymphs will be on the move.
I was in South Wales yesterday and had a look at the Monnow but that was about 6" too high and carrying little colour. The Usk looks perfect in your photo.

Lovely early season fish T.P. - which water was that? Tigermoth It was red barn directly opposite the house. I think that little stretch of slower water has shallowed out this season. Cheers T.P.
