Not my favourite film, but I remember a movie about a fishing expert who only had head knowledge of the sport.
Somehow or other he got railroaded into fishing with a group that he had given advice to while selling them loads of tackle for the sports store he worked for.
It was a romantic comedy. I think it was either Cary Grant or James Stewart in the lead.
Anyone know the title?

What amazes me most about this thread is that no one has voted for "Grumpy old men". ;D

How could we forget this one its about my home town The Blues Brothers - now celebrating its 25th anniversary. Here is an article from todays Chicago Sun Times on it. www.suntimes.com/output/movies/wkp-news-brothers02.htmlElwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tanks of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Jake: Hit it. Elwood: We are on a mission from god they cannot stop us.

Just saw a film this weekend which shoots straight into my top 3 films of all time.
'Sideways'.
I implore you to go rent the DVD, it's just a great movie. I reckon like a good wine it'll mature with age too...

Sideways - a low budget surprise hit - a "sleeper" and one of the funniest films I have seen. Some of the scenes in it are side splitting and you may never drink Merlot again.

Just saw it again - mentioned once above. Taxi Driver. What a film! Travis in mohican (De Niro) to Sport the pimp (Keitel) after Sport had clipped him and kicked him and told him to get the hell out of there before he really hurt him. Travis just stands there and says, "Do you have a gun?" Sport "uh No".Then Travis "Suck on this" Boom!! Then all hell breaks loose. Such eloquence Then the final sequence of shots with Travis in user friendly haircut and the blonde Cybil Shepherd trying to communicate with him from the back of the cab - all done through mirrors. Very, very good, IMO. Not my favourite but right up there.
