thanks wullie,was a bit nervous at the end 5 for 9lb7oz,the cutoff was 9lb3oz ;D gordon made it to .all on buzzers, midge tip. and your right we were hiding under the bank .when the lightning came. jim

Well done Jim, i does not matter if your first or last to qualify in the prelims or semi's as long as your in the last 18 in the final or even lucky enough to win it

tell me about it,but i got faith from bill farquar in my fly dressers guild, who got a scottish cap in his late 60's and is trying for a world cap.(bills cap was one of his happiest moments) i now have the motivation.and will stick with it until i can no longer do it.jim.

Hi Jim, ask Bill about his friend Alistair McKellar who must be older than him and has had three or four international caps plus a world cap late on in life . Thats what i like about competitive fly fishing your never to old mate, good luck and i hope you get there in the end

I was lucky enough to fish with Bill Farquhar on Wednesday in the prelim. A total gentleman and a good fisher! he was extremely unlucky not to qualify in really difficult conditions. I worked out that he must have been 73 ( hope he doesn't mind me mentioning it ) when he won his first cap, then a carry forward the next year finishing Scotlands 2nd top rod. Thoroughly enjoyable day.
