Hi, I currently use an IMX 9' #6 for my dry fly fishing but I want to upgrade. I was looking at an XP, GLX, GL3 or another IMX in 9' #5 or 8'6" #5. What model and length would be best for small stillwater fishing?

I am of the view that the Loomis IMX is the best rod out there - I don't say this lightly as I have owned [still do] many rods, including premium brands such as Sage [RPL+ second only to IMX] Orvis and the rest - original IMX's are hard to get, however, if you can get your hands on a 10' for #5 or #6 you will have the ultimate dry fly rod. I own a hand built [by Eoin Fairgraives] Sage RPL+ 10' #5 which is surperb for dry fly work.
I make and use an IMX 9' 5 weight and it is the best. Some claim the Sage's are better and I've an SLT that comes a close second. But the IMX is cool.
If you're interested in a 2 piece SLT or IMX let me know. I have an SLT available.
