Hi, I wonder if you can help me please. I am assuming that something as popular as fly fishing must have an annual champion of champions, so to speak. To that end I am looking for a comprehensive listing of past Fly Fishing Champions both in the UK and in Wales. I have tried a few search engine but the mass of sites has damaged my will to live and I feel I will be better served by asking those who know! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Trudi

trudileach,
Not so straight forward I'm afraid but depends on how you look at it!
At the stillwater competition level I'm sure all the UK countries hold their own National Individual Championships independently.
There are also two Home International competitions each year with the top individual rod at each winning the coveted 'Brown Bowl', although this comp is primarily a team event.
There are various other individual competitions such as Lexus/FTEO (organised by John Horsey) which is 'open' in nature and receives entries from across Europe.
It may be worth while posting this question in 'Competition Fly fishing' section to get a more informed response!!
Good Luck!!

Thanks for the advice Hasbeen, I have posted the same question where you suggested. The reason I ask is because I live in Spain and in the ex-pat community we have a bulls__t__er of the highest order, if he were to have done a tenth of the things he claims to have done he would have to be at least 250 years old. Today he claims to have over 40 medals for fly fishing and to have been all England and Wales champion. I need a bit of ammo before I can shoot him down in flames!!
