A couple of months ago I was over at Dave's and he very kindly let me borrow the first draft of a dvd that he was compiling during a demo. As this was the first draft, obviously there were soemthings that needed to be edited, such as Dave having the cold, and sniffing during the filming. Which could not be helped The demo itself was very well put together and its only as you see it being done do you grasp the techniques and the proportions. Unless you have been as fortunate as I have, having Highlander and Dave staying only 5mins away you can pop round and see how its done. The great thing about the dvd is that you can pause and rewind if you get stuck. With the amount of patterns on the dvd, I reckon you would be tying flies for a good 2-3months, and underpining that, you would be learning the techniques at the same time. During the demo some of the audience were asking questions and Dave was replying to them, as well as having the laugh. The questions were practical ones. Some dvd's don't have audience participation, and I think that having the audience helps to make the dvd. Camera and action Go for it Dave I will probably buy one as well.

Why don't you do a "Chris Ogborne" Style video? Fly tying then showing people how you fish them. I'm fed up of watching fishing DVDs with naff 80s synthesizer music in the background, everyone sounding like Radio 4 presenters and wearing copious amounts of Barbour clothing and woolly jumpers. What about something more contemporary and bring fishing DVDs into the new millennium. Thing have changed dramatically over the last 20 years why don't you reflect this not only in tying but in practical "on the water" techniques. Regardless ill no doubt buy it anyway. Cheers
