I want a Sage XP, but cannot afford the £530 it costs in the UK. Buying from the USA is a lot cheaper, but then cheaper again seems to be buying a Sage XP blank and components - again the US seems best.
Has anyone had any experience of buying sage XP from the US, and can you recommend a supplier that provides the right quality components with the blank?

It was some years ago but I bought my 11' 3" Sage RPL from Hunters of New Boston in the USA and they also supplied Struble fittings, high quality handle and rings that were the same as Sage used. Even with paying VAT on the blank I managed to get the rod made for well under half of the UK retail price.

Bought my blank from www.cabelas.com, got all the components and way to many tying materials and also I asked and recieved the loomis single leg rings which i prefer to snakes. All for 400 euro and that includes tax. You dont get a tube or sock for that price and the guarantee has to requested from Sage themselves, but u get a lovely rod for half the price and there is some satisfaction from putting together yourself and adding little custom bits

I would try guidesandblanks.
They supply XP kits. Currently £260 or so for a 4 piece 5 weight.
Last year they sourced me a 8'6" 4 piece 3 weight and supplied all the fittings for about that price.
No problems with duty or import costs & they are great to dela with.
