I have been told the dates for the family holiday, and which day I am allowed to go fishing.
My plan is to fish both the above on Thursday 4th August. Probably Carron Valley during the day and an evening session on North Third.
If anybody fancies a cast give me a shout.
Regards Billy

You can pencil me in. Don't know how you want to do this, but I would suggest you get everyone to make their own booking as and when they can. Should be a lot less hassle for you that way. Booking information and fishing reports can be found at www.carronvalley.comwww.north-third-trout-fishery.co.uk/I'll hopefully be fishing Carron a few times before August, and maybe North Third also. I'll put a report or two in the Stillwaters update forum.

Good thinking Gander, only problem is we might end up with too many boats. I thought we might find out who is interested then decide who is booking boats. We could sort out fishing partners on the day. Maybe have a cut-off date of the end of June?

too early for me to make plans, but a wee note anyhow. have only fished the carron during the day and never been to north third, but the evening rise on the carron is supposed to be spectacular. came off the day session in end off aug last season and the water was starting to 'boil' with free rising fish.
hope to make it either way

Billy Can I suggest you fish North Third during the day and Carron for the evening session. The reason being Carron is a brownie only water and as Wullie said above the evening rise can be excellent. Also North 3rd is mainly rainbows and may fish better than Carron during the day . Hope this does not cause to much confusion .

I'd be up for this. Going to make the effort this time to meet some guys of the forum. Carron Valley is one of those places which I have never fished but spent allot of time walking around and generally looking at ;D. I guess the size of it intimidates me a bit - would not know where to start. If there was someone willing to share a boat and show me the ropes it would be much appreciated (only really fished for bows).
If anyone is looking for a partner before August I may be interested depending on dates.
cheers
