There's more chance hitting the right method to catch if you'r fishing with some one. So If you fish still waters or rivers in the Lancashire area give us a shout as I'll be able to show you the method not to use!

Hi from Burnley.
Apart from fisheries I only know of Mitton/Edisford bridge (river Calder) that I can day ticket on, are there any more near me?

Hi, I'm also from Lancs The river calder or Barnsfold lakes (just outside Preston) seem to be the in the middle of Atherton, Lancs, Blackpool, Burnley. I'm happy to arrange a day when we could meet up at any water (although I only fish Catch & Release - so this does limit choice for me). If anyone is interested email me your details: enquiries@troutlure.co.ukand stick: 'FAO Terry' as the subject Thanks, Terry

How does Sunday the 28th of March sound? just to give everyone a couple of weeks notice, to wangle some time of work - or get in the good books with the missus... Venue: Barnsfold Waters just outside Preston, Lancs. Their website is here if you haven't been before: www.gamefishing.me.uk/Reply to this post if you are interested and we'll arrange a time/place to meet up. Everyone welcome, the more the better! Cheers, Terry.

Another day ticket for you: Ribble at Mitton bridge is good. River Hodder at Slaidburn - tickets used to be from the Jam Pot but I think they'r from the post office now. Excellent fishing on a small river. Cracking venue for grayling in winter too.

River Calder at Mitton Bridge near Whalley is £4 for the day ticket, available from the MItton Hotel nearby.
Very clear water at the moment, about 12-24" deep, flowing into the Ribble where things get a bit bigger.
The ticket is supposed to be from the bridge to somehwere near the junction with the ribble, but I saw no sign & a fisher there thought that you were also allowed 200 yds of the Ribble on the day ticket. (I'll no doubt find this out when I go, I'll ask the riverkeeper there)
