Just remembered these two, I used to fish them both on the same cast in a big wind. Dropper first, can't remember the name of this one.
Hook- Traditional wet fly 12-16 tail- short black marabou cheeks- tied in either side of the tail, fluorescent orange floss Body- Peacock Glister dubbing, quite thick.
The point fly is an old Scottish fly called the Black Joe
Hook- traditional wet fly 12-16 body- in 2 halves, 1st half, nearest bend, fluorescent red floss. 2nd half, nearest head, black Ostrich Herl. Hackle- Black Hen.
I fish these either dead drift in a big wind or pulled in a very big wind, on a floating line.

I can remember a Comp day @ Grafham (where you can fish a cast of buzzers/nymphs and lures together) Fishing a sinking line, Cats whisker double on point and buzzers on the droppers. Big wind, meant pulling fast. I had top bag in the comp with all the trout taking the top dropper 'orange' glo brite No 7 buzzer, pearl ribbed. Fished 100 miles an hour!

I have had great sucsess with normal buzzer in your favourite colour but replace your usual thorax with a small round muddler head of dear or elk. Pulled through a big wave or drifted in the wind have both worked well. Tight lines.

How is Watten fishing? Any fly recommendations? Thanks to everyone else, for the answers, too

Hi Gander Watten fished well first week but it has turned cold and is a little slow now should improve though. Most traditional patterns work well my favorites are Soldier palmer, Invicta, Cinnamon and Gold and Mallard and claret. Black pennel and buzzers also work when there on be prepared to go small when calm as water is very clear. Give me a shout nearer the time and i will update you.

Gander 12 14 and 16 should be fine but if you get in a flat calm and caenis hatch there will be fish rising all around and taking nothing you offer then go smaller i have had success in these conditions with a size 22 F Fly.
