Thanks for the offer coachman16, don't know whether I can make tommorrow, if i do it will not be until late afternoon. You'll have to leave me some tips.
Well done del on your first fish from the reservoir.

I managed to get down yesterday afternoon. Started fishing in Flamingo Bay about 3pm. Managed to get in on Hut Point side by wading out near the hedge halfway to the point. Can't have been a million miles away from Coachman16. Caught pretty quickly on black suspender buzzer. Soon after this a guy who was fishing just through the hedge packed up. He had creamed them on a green Diawl Bach and gave me the remnants of the fly. It worked first cast but unfortunately the fishes teeth finished off what was left of peacock herl and left a bare hook with some green thread attached. I then moved up to Hut Point and took another two on green suspender buzzer. Probably lost another four fish. It was one of those days that made me question whether fishing barbless loses more fish. The other side of the argumant is that you get better penetration without the barb of course. Best leave it at that as the subject could form a thread of it's own All in all a cracking afternoon, there was certainly plenty of fish about. I packed up about 9pm by which time the wind across hut point was going right through me. ;D Apologies if I spoke to you coachman and did not introduce myself. As you know if I had gone round everyone I'd still be there now as there were quite a few out there enjoying it. Great to see the reservoir fishing well.

wait till the sedges start appearing, or the fry bashing late in the season. Magic. I miss the old place, but wouldn't swap where I am now.
